Adolescents

“ You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” - Maya Angelou

I want you to take a moment to remember what it was like for you during your adolescence. I think we can all agree that this was one of the most confusing and challenging times in our lives. It is a time filled with academic pressures, personal insecurities, and difficulties in the always evolving social dynamics with their peers. The biggest difference for them from us is that they now have to take on the pressures of social media and technology. I see the struggles that parents face in trying to understand the perspectives of their teens and then knowing how to parent and coach them through this difficult time.

I have worked with teens extensively in the past, and I find it particularly easy to connect with this age group. I specialize in working with teenagers who are struggling with anxiety, depression, learning differences like ADD, ADHD, and so forth. Sometimes teenagers have a hard time with emotional regulation because there is so much going on. I am here to guide them through, and teach them healthy decision making and problem solving skills.

My goal is to help your teenager explore and challenge who they are so that they can become the versions of themselves that they can be proud of . By implementing cognitive behavioural techniques in our sessions, the teens will be able to develop necessary skills to manage and provide strategies in dealing with negative self talk and actions.
